EA is rumoured to resurrect its long-dead Dead Space franchise soon. It would be ideal if Id Software bundled all four Quake games together, similar to what EA did with Mass Effect Legendary Edition. However, it is unclear as to which iteration of the game will get an overhaul. Lastly, Shpeshal Nick adds that the upcoming Quake game could feature a female protagonist. In 2016, Machine games launched Quake: Dimensions of the Past on the franchise's 20th anniversary, so we can rest easy knowing that the game is in good hands. Id Software could get some help from Machine Games of the Wolfenstein: The New Order fame, too. The information comes from well-renowned industry insider Shpeshal Nick, who claims that the new version of Quake will include both single and multiplayer elements. However, there could still be hope for Quake fans worldwide, as Id Software is reportedly planning to launch a remastered version of Quake. While we got an RTX-enabled version of Quake 2, it only included the first three levels. Quake Champions turned out to be a damp squib and is still in early access, even though it has been around for nearly four years. Despite heralding in a new era of first-person shooters, the Quake franchise has been dead for quite some time.
